Title:  Foundations of Information Systems (FIS)

 

Aim:

 

  • The aim of the course is to give students a basic understanding of the use of information systems in different kinds of organizations.

 

Objective:

 

When the students complete this course, they will

 

  • have an understanding of information systems;
  • understand how different kinds of information systems are used by an organization’s employees working in different departments at various levels;
  • learn about the different ways in which data can be stored, processed, and analyzed to create useful information;
  • learn how information systems can be used to ensure the quality of information produced within an organization.

 

 

USP:

FIS demonstrates the use of information systems using case studies and examples. Additionally, the student builds the conceptual design of a database by the end of the course.
