description of course: This is a 50-hour course which is divided into 14 concepts. It has three modules § Basic – the first four concepts (concepts 1 - 4) § Intermediate – the next four concepts (concepts 5- 8) § Advanced – the next six concepts (concepts 9 – 14) The basic module is an interactive program designed to teach fundamental concepts such as Visual Basic Environment, the Integrated Development Environment, the basic programming concepts, and about Menus and controls. The intermediate module deals with concepts such as Graphics, ActiveX controls, File handling and Error handling. The advanced module deals with concepts such as Database programming, building web applications, OLE, ActiveX components, Windows API, and package and deployment. After each concept, a summary is presented. The student can reflect upon what he/she has learnt by just going through the summary. This course is completely interactive. The student is asked to think and participate in every example and program. Interactivity makes the course more interesting. Most of the time, the student is asked to do examples on his/her own. A sample code is given later thus providing a first-hand experience. The student gains confidence after each concept. There is a project for the student to do after every concept. This project is called 'Knowledge Quiz Project'. The student is asked to do the entire project. Student profile: Students above twelve standard (undergraduate) coming from regional medium background who can understand English. Job opportunities: After this course, the student will get a job of a Visual Basic programmer. |
